We, the Christians of Ankawa, are experiencing a form of soft genocide at the hands of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the leading Kurdish party, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Over the years, the KRG has systematically expropriated our lands and denied our people their rights. Recently, nearly 100 hectares were taken from the farmers of Ankawa by the KDP without any compensation. The KDP’s actions have not ceased, and they are now planning to seize the remaining hectares and transfer them to companies that act as fronts for the KDP. One notable project, the Aram Towers, is being constructed in the heart of Ankawa and sold to individuals from outside the town, threatening to alter the demographic composition of the last remaining Christian town in Iraq. This targeted discrimination has forced hundreds of Christian families to leave Ankawa in recent months. If the KDP is not stopped, we fear that 30,000 Christians will leave the town, migrating to the EU and the US, resulting in the extinction of one of the oldest Christian communities in the Middle East. The US, EU and the Vatican will bear responsibility for this outcome due to their support for the oppressive Kurdish government in northern Iraq. We urge you to act immediately and exert pressure on the KRG before it is too late.

لايزال موضوع عقار عنكاوا يثير استياء الشباب فيها فبعد سلسلة من المناشدات الى مختلف الشخصيات الحكومية والمدنية والدينية ها هو موقع يدا بيد من اجل عنكاوا يطلق مناشدة جديدة لكن هذه المرة وجهت الى مختلف القنصليات بغية ردع التجاوز على اراضي عنكاوا، والحد من هجرة شبابها …
يذكر انه قبل حوالي سنتين اعطيت مجموعة من الوعود لتنفيذ مجموعة من المشاريع والخدمات والتي لم ينفذ منها شيئا لا بل انه في الوقت الذي تدين به بلدية عنكاوا للمواطنين في القضاء بنحو 400 قطعة ارض دون ان تدلي باي تصريح حول مصيرها لايزل اقامة المشاريع على ماتبقى من اراضيها والذي يسبب تغييرا ديموغرافيا مستمرا في القضاء حيث يرجح الشباب والاهالي الى أحقيتهم بتلك الاراضي لاسيما الذين يمتلكون الوثائق الثبوتية لها وايضا الشباب الذين تاملوا بتحقيق الوعود، منها شقق لسكن لائق لهم وبناء مستشفى الطوارىء وبارك عنكاوا وخدمات 108 وخدمات اخرى تم وضع حجر اساس لها و أعطيت الوعود من قبل مسؤلين بتنفيذها لكن دون اي تنفيذ او اي أمل بتنفيذها او معرفة مصير اراضي تلك المشارع غير المنفذة …
